Only the future can show us, if Google's Project Tango, will benefit AR technology on smartphones.

Project Google Tango is an augmented reality computing platform developed by Google. It uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or other external signals. This allows application developers to create user experiences that include indoor navigation, 3D mapping, physical space measurement, environmental recognition, augmented reality, and windows into a virtual world.

Now we have only two mobile devices which are capable display Google Tango technologies. These mobile devices have a special system of three cameras for display digital model in the real world through these cameras.

We can develop an application for Google Tango in Unity 3D, C language, and Java API.
